A refugium is a separate area of your aquarium system that offers sanctuary or refuge to creatures and plants that would not be able to thrive in your main display tank. These creatures offer tremendous benefits to your aquarium. The ocean is a vast and extremely diverse ecosystem and a refugium allows us to more closely align our tanks with what happens in nature.
Emerald Crabs are a very interesting addition to a saltwater tank. They do however have their quirks and it is best to be cautious when adding them. Each one has its own personality some are very outgoing and have no problems being front and center in the tank while others will hide and make you think they have disappeared. Some will also be more aggressive than others.

Any time I am asked, “What coral should I get first?” my immediate answer is Mushroom Coral. More specifically the Discosoma Mushroom. They are in my opinion the easiest coral to keep. They come in a huge variety of colors. They will grow and spread at a faster pace than most other coral. Best of all they are one of the most tolerant out of all corals to dirty water.
